Interactive Cybersecurity Escape Room

The Cybersecurity Escape Room is a custom-designed experience, modelled on industry tabletop exercises. It simulates a corporate environment where participants are divided into six departmental teams to stop a cyber-attack:

• Finance

• Legal

• Executive (CEO)

• Public Relations

• Human Resources

• Information Technology

Each team is tasked with solving cybersecurity challenges relevant to their department. The structure includes:

1. Challenge 1: Unlock a box containing the second challenge

2. Challenge 2: Solve the final puzzle to unlock the team’s padlock on a shared group box

3. Group Objective: All teams must collaborate to unlock the final box within the time limit

The exercise concludes with a tabletop discussion on:

• Develop cyber resilience and post-attack plans for their company.

• The role of each department in cybersecurity

• The importance of communication and collaboration

• Career pathways in cybersecurity

Before each Escape Room session begins, we suggest a brief activity centred on Social Engineering, which accounts for over 90% of cybersecurity breaches. This will be the trigger for the escape room event to begin.
