for the Asiera Conference 2026

The inaugural Asiera Conference 2026 marks the next chapter of Ireland’s leading event for the research and education technology community. Previously known as the HEAnet Conference, established in 2001, and celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, this event has long provided a platform for sharing expertise across networking, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, and research collaboration.

As the community faces evolving challenges in areas such as security, sustainability, data, and skills, the first Asiera programme will help shape the future direction of the conference.

Submitting a talk offers an opportunity to present your work, contribute to sector-wide discussions, and engage with technologists, researchers, educators, policy stakeholders, and network operators working across research and education infrastructure.

Submission Deadline: Friday 5 June 2026

Presentations

  • 25-minute session including Q&A

  • Maximum 500-word outline and brief speaker bio

Lightning Talks

  • 5-minute talk including Q&A

  • Maximum 100-word outline and brief speaker bio

    • Once submitted abstract content cannot be amended. 

    • If accepted the presenting author must register to attend the conference. 

    • Last date for submission is June 5th 2026. 

    • Ideally the submitter should be the presenting author. 

    • If this is not possible the replacement presenter must be a named author on the original submission. 

    • As the number of presentation slots are limited, the review committee may suggest a talk is accepted in the alternative presentation format. 

    • If chosen to present at the conference, the author may be required to make his/her presentation available for publishing on the relevant website. 

    • The presenting author (as indicated on the submission) will be notified of the decision of the judging panel on or around July 15th 2026 The decision of the panel is final. 

    • The submitter is responsible for obtaining consent to publish the names of authors/co-authors. 

    • Please remember: If accepted for a presentation, the presenting author must register for conference attendance and will be liable for the applicable delegate fee.
