Digital transformation in Irish Higher Education Professional Services

Digital transformation is increasingly presented as a strategic priority for higher education institutions, yet its implementation within professional services remains under-researched, particularly in the Irish higher education context. Existing literature often focuses on teaching, learning, digital pedagogy, and student engagement, while the professional services functions that enable institutions to operate effectively receive less attention. This study addresses that gap by examining digital transformation initiatives in areas such as registry, finance, information technology, student administration, data governance, statutory reporting, and related operational domains.
