Cyber Attack 2023

The session will concentrate on the MTU 2023 Cyber Event. The speaker will provide an overview of the timeline of events, the actions of the threat actors and of the path taken by MTU to build back better. His account includes an overview of how MTU managed the recovery governance, communication, resilience, maintained services, while engaging with a host of interests from the NCSC, An Garda Siochana, insurance brokers and the High Court. He will detail how crucial the University's IT Team was to the successful investigation and recovery, who built innovative solutions to complex problems in real time and on a daily basis. Jonathan will conclude by detailing the psychological impacts an event like this can have on individuals and in particular IT.
